Erin and Jonathan share their beautiful Camp Comfort boho-chic destination wedding in the Hill Country. Camp Comfort is a Historic bowling alley built in 1860 converted to a non-hosted boutique bed & breakfast on the Cypress Creek in historic Comfort, Texas. They had guests from Canada, Mexico and Texas join them for their wedding weekend. Erin shares her vendors, favorite moments, and a few tips for brides-to- be below.

How did you choose your venues?

My mother and I come to Comfort often to get away and enjoy the scenery, people, and wine. My mom ran in to Phil when he was building the camp a few years ago. We came a couple times after it was built and fell in love with the camp and it’s owners.
Describe your flowers? What company did them? Where they DIY? ( if so where did you get them )

Flowers were boho-chic made by Brandi Hines. They had garden roses, thistles and greenery.
Describe your decor and how you chose it? ( Where was it from – if rented )

Décor was rented from Whim, but organized and picked out by Brandi Hines. Some décor (candles, etc) were also from Brandi’s personal collection.
Tell me about your attire – who designed your dress and where did you buy it?

My dress was almost vintage looking- lots of lace. Maggie Sottero is the designer and I bought it at Kleinfeld’s in Toronto.
What shoes did you choose and what jewelry did you wear?

Shoes were funky tie up the leg sandals; necklace was a gift my grandpa brought my grandma from Brazil during WWII. My bracelet was a diamond tennis bracelet borrowed from my mother.
Who did bride’s hair and makeup?

Taryn Williams from Milk + Honey in Austin.
Who designed the bridesmaids dresses? Where were they purchased?

I let the girls purchase whatever they wanted!
Groom/ Groomsmen’s attire:

Charcoal grey suit.
Bar Service & Any signature drinks?

Signature drink was palloma, then there was red/white wine and a variety of beers.
Catering & What foods were served at your wedding?

True Flavors catered the event (amazing)- Food was chips and queso, salad, pulled pork sliders, civiche, and a variety of tacos.
Cake shop ? Describe your cake(s)

Cake was Italian cream cake (with no nuts), very simple with fake eukalyptus on it, made by Cakes and More.
DJ/Band? The music: What was your first dance song? Father Daughter Dance? Mother Son? Any other special songs?

The DJ was Todd Sterling from 5150 Productions. He was WONDERFUL. The first dance was Elvis- Falling in love. Father/daughter was James Taylor- You’ve got a friend. Mother/son was Andrea Boccelli with Celine Dion- The prayer.
Invitations/ Stationary?

Invitations were letter press by Colorbox Letterpress out of Dallas, Texas.

Any other significant accessories?

Lots of Canadians, Americans, and Mexicans for the festivities!
Why did you choose me, Jackie , to be your wedding photographer?

I fell in love with the portraits on Jackie Willome’s website. I looked into at least 10 photographers, and I just couldn’t get past your portraits or the creativity in your photos.
What was one of your favorite moments from your wedding day?

The reveal and taking photos in the creek in our wedding outfits!
Did any of your other vendors go above and beyond for you?

All of them. The Camp owners (Phil and Lisa) were amazingly generous. Brandi by far exceeded any expectation I could have- she designed and created a fairy tale wedding that we all got to see come to life. Whim- wonderful set-up of the tent and all the décor, etc! Great guys! True Flavors- really took care of the bride and groom and made sure we were eating while also catering to the entire wedding. Everyone only had wonderful things to say about the service from Hector and his crew at True Flavors. Cake was from Cakes and More and was AMAZING.
Do you have any tips to share with other couples?

Don’t try to plan too much- and remember to live IN THE MOMENT, take deep breaths and just be along for the ride. If it’s feasible, get a good wedding planner– they are life savors.
